This 42-ton granite boulder moved from a Needham Township farm serves as a memorial to the Johnson County veterans who served in the Spanish American War 1898-1902. The memorial, dedicated in September 1937 by the Franklin Camp No. 64 of the United Spanish War Veterans, contains bronze plaques with the names of these brave volunteers.
