A large boulder procured from near the Second Mount Pleasant Church in Johnson County serves as a memorial to those from Johnson County who died in the Civil War. It was erected in 1940 by the Lincoln Chapter of the Daughters of the Union, a patriotic organization that sought to keep alive the memory of the brave men who fought in the Civil War.
