This is a replica of a cannon made in 1861 by the Stedman Company of Aurora, Indiana during the Civil War. The original 1400 pound cast iron cannon is thought to have guarded the southern Indiana border for the Union as part of gun battery along the Ohio River. The original cannon is on display at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis.
