Designed by famed architect Francis Costigan and completed in 1849, the Shrewsbury-Windle House National Historic Landmark is one of America's most important homes, commanding a view of the Ohio River with a large garden. The Shrewburys cultivated grapes, fruit trees and flowers and also had a hog and perhaps a cow for milk.
